• Podium Shopping Centre is one of Bath's most recent developments. The centre is small, light and airy with restaurants and a library on the first floor and a good range of specialist shops on the ground floor. The major store occupying a large amount of space is Waitrose and this brings a large number of people into the centre. The specialist shops cover high quality chemist items to dried fruit, prints and paintings to jewellery. A flower stall is set up outside the pseudo-Roman entrance and here you can usually find very unusual specimens at reasonable prices. Though not exactly a shopper's paradise, The Podium does house a number of interesting independent retailers and is worth a visit for that fact alone. Call ahead for hours of operation.
