- Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Auldbrass Plantation is a little more than an hour north of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Although outside the city, this property is certainly worth viewing when it is open to the public, which is very rarely since the Auldbrass is privately owned. Be sure to keep a lookout for when the owners decide to have it open for tours as tickets go quickly.
