• This costly wine bar is decorated like an old-world wine cellar, a look it achieved by using thick, aged woods and an impressive amount of imported decorations. Still, the price-per-bottle is astronomical, making it an unlikely stop for any but the most die-hard of wine lovers. The joint stays open by catering to the wealthy new rich of Beijing, who know little of wine and are impressed by the imported delicacies and decor. Real international wine lovers may scoff at the mark-up on even mid-range bottles that would be sold at grocery stores in their home country. Still, finding some of these rare vino bottles in China isn't easy and there's something to be said about the commitment La Cave has for their decor and high-end appeal.
