  • Japanese food in Beijing is a cinch to find, especially when you already know where to start. From teppanyaki to sushi and Japanese BBQ, you'll find everything you could crave from Japan right here in the Middle Kingdom.

Hatsune has the best sushi in Beijing. This is just a fact, and is hardly up for debate since Hatsune has won rave reviews about their sushi since its inception. Naturally, there is nowhere else you should go before trying the sushi at Hatsune.

Isshin is a well known, trusted and delicious sushi alternative. Depending on your location, this isn't a bad option for an amazing evening of fine Japanese dining nearly on par with Hatsune's impressive sushi menu and talent.

Haiku is a chic little restaurant by Hatsune that has a reliable and die-hard cast of regulars as well as impressed and awes new arrivals.

For ramen, soup and other Japanese delights, Matsuko offers a good menu at a decent price with amazingly authentic, real Japanese food. This is a place to return to time and again when the craving calls.

Shiro Matsu is a 5-star version of Japanese food done to its finest. You'll find a pleasant sushi menu, a clear and creative menu of Japanese favorites and an impressive drinks menu, all done up in a fancy setting.

Yotsuba is another sushi option that won't disappoint. If you've tried the other options and Beijing and still crave more, this is an amazing alternative where the price is right.

Ichiban is a local Japanese restaurant located right smack dab in Beijing. Its as if when you walk through the doors you have arrived in Japan. Nothing is left undone.

For Japanese hot pot, Kagen is your destination! After you've tried Chinese and Mongolian hot pot, Japanese hot pot is an entirely different experience and one well worth having.

Tairyo is a great Teppanyaki place with a strong reputation and a sensible menu. Since they offer an all-you-can-eat option, this is a fun place to go with a large group of hungry men and women, and the drinks flow freely as well!
