  • Traveling with children isn't always easy, and in a place as massive as Beijing it can be downright daunting. However, Beijing loves children, and this is apparent in the city's dedication to parks, child-proof railings on bridges and roads, and even in its fun and friendly restaurants.

1001 Nights is a fun, child-friendly restaurant for an early evening dinner with the family. Later at night the place can pick up and get loud, but for excellent food, professional (not crude) belly-dancers for entertainment and fun music, your children will find this an enjoyable outing.

Take the family for a dinner of dumplings, and try everything on the menu at Din Tai Fung, a sure thing for family-friendly fun and entertainment. The food is great, the decor is child-friendly and the experience of trying a new food together will be memorable.

Jin Ding Xuan offers 24 hours Dim Sum. While we don't recommend taking the family there later at night, the location does have some of the better group or family priced dim sum options in town, and again, trying something new with the family will be fun!

For classic Italian pizza, head to Annie's or La Pizza 1, both of which adore it when families come in to dine on a large pizza together. You can also get speedy delivery should you decide to stay in and order out.

Grandma's Kitchen and Steak and Eggs both offer a delightful, diner-style breakfast option the whole family will love. Sunday mornings both are packed with hungover partiers, but the seating is such that your child won't have to overhear your booth neighbor's previous night's antics.

Cafe Lakeside, The Orchard and Blue Frog are perhaps better suited to older children, but the food and decor make it family friendly for any age group. The food is amazing and your child will find something he or she recognizes and craves on these kid-friendly menus.
