Sanlitun is a name nearly every city dweller in Asia will know. It is infamous for its bars, nightlife, clubs and wild raging parties. The sanlitun bar street was once a small string of pubs and bars, all Chinese owned, when across the way a fakes market opened catering to foreigners. Soon, Western owned bars started to open nearby and with their popularity the Village at San Li Tun was born, home to dozens of international bars, restaurants and high--end shopping. The fakes market still stands, as do the Chinese bars, but the area has outgrown its history and the bars and clubs spill out onto the main street near the worker's stadium and gymnasium.
The two worker's stadiums and gymnasiums offer seating for sporting and musical performances, and are conveniently ringed with bars and clubs for post-event parties. The whole area is primed for post-event parties in a big way.
The fakes market is called Ya Show, and you'll find shoes, belts and purses on the bottom floor, clothing on the next three floors and trinkets on the 4th floor and food on the top floor. Outside, you'll find DVD shops, nail salons and the Village nearby provides food and entertainment.
