If you are planning to stay in Beijing longer than a few days a vacation rental or short-term serviced apartment may be better suited to your needs. With varying contracts, some rent for as long as a year, but three months, one month and two weeks are also common. Usually brokered through a company if for a longer duration of time, these serviced apartments offer laundry, cleaning and often have food delivery (everything the bachelor businessman needs!).

For affordable options, try the Ariva, HWA, Jinqiao and Sentury. For affordable prices you won't find unnecessary luxuries like a pool, gym or conference rooms but you will find great rooms that are private, quiet and clean and all the amenities you actually need, like a fridge, laundry and cleaning service to bring new towels and mop up. For businessmen and those on a budget this may be your best option.

Slightly more expensive, Greentree, New World and Lee Garden offer mid-range serviced apartments and vacation rentals. Contracts are easy to get and sign upon arrival (in off-season) or to book online during peak season. All have comfortable rooms and offer some amenities like spa services and shopping/dining options.

Finally, high end vacation rentals include Warwick, Marriott and Oakwood Rentals, where you'll find western standards and comparable prices, and western luxury benefits like spa, gym, security, cleaning and much more.
