Marco Polo Parkside (Zhongao Mage Boluo Jiudian)

Description:

  • The Olympics National Stadium is about a five-minute walk away from this swank new hotel. Marble entranceways lead the way to plush carpets, generous sized bathrooms with separate shower units, and chic dark wood furniture. Even the decor is slick, with chocolate brown textured velour bed throws and subtle silk-screens. In deluxe rooms, an almond-shaped bathtub sits next to a huge glass window marking the boundary between the bedroom and the bathroom. Too scandalous? Don't worry, the press of a button sends down an electronic curtain. Get a room facing west to see the National Stadium just visible beyond the neighboring high-rises. The hotel was in the middle of their soft opening at time of writing, so we didn't get a chance to pop into the pool, health club, or spa, which were still under construction. Staff are overeager, though still a little unsure of themselves.
