This neighbourhood duck restaurant goes above and beyond the norm with its swanky decor, really great quality food and friendly atmosphere that appeals to both locals and foreigners. The menu focuses on Shandong and Beijing specialities, with particualr favourites including the sizzling 'Lao Beijing' mutton with onions and coriander and the fried starch with garlic sauce. The Beijing duck is 75% as good as the most popular places but for less than 50% of the price, and for just a few dollars extra you can have the bones of the duck fried into a deliciously decadent KFC/China crossover. Definitely worth a visit for authentic food that is clean, tasty and better quality than most other places, yet still retaining its local flavour.
