Beijing Capital Museum Tour including Rickshaw Ride and Tea Ceremony

Description:

  • It's an adventure to roam the old streets of Beijing, but it becomes all the more exciting by pedicab. Start with an interesting tour of the Capital Museum to learn about the history and culture of China's capital city. Taste local teas at a traditional tea ceremony, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and visit a real Chinese family in their home. Later visit Prince Gong's mansion to see the magnificent gardens, Beijing's largest.

Your tour starts at the Capital Museum - one of the best places to learn about the history and culture of China''s capital city. The museum is divided into two halls, each with six floors of exhibits. You can learn about ancient Beijing and the thousands of years of customs and culture, then see extraordinary collections of historic objects including statue, jade, bronzes and more. Before lunch, you will attend an elegant tea ceremony, where you'll experience the centuries-old tradition and taste local tea varieties.

After lunch at a local restaurant it's a visit to the magnificent gardens at Prince Gong's mansion, Beijing's largest and the best preserved Qing Dynasty royal mansion. Next, you'll then take to the streets of old Beijing by rickshaw, also known as a pedicab. This portion of the tour allows you to get a taste of life in the city as your driver pedals through the old, narrow streets, or hutongs. It includes a stop to visit the home of a real Chinese family and a climb to the top of an old drum tower for a birds eye view of the area.
