Description:
- Ballydougan Pottery is the flagship enterprise of the Craigavon Rural Development Project. This was established in 1984 to give the area a lift and provide local indigenous employment. Ballydougan is now Northern Ireland's largest craft pottery with six full time, college-trained employees. They produce high quality ceramics for the home and export markets. The business is located in Bloomfield House, a listed thatched building dating back to 1785. The crafts are displayed in each room in a way which harmonises with their surroundings. From a garden courtyard you will have a chance to see the potters at work. The Pottery recently won the prestigious British Airways Tourism Award, which recognised its contribution toward making Northern Ireland a desirable tourist location.
