Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize

Description:

  • There's a species of bird for almost every day of the year at the Belize Crooked Tree Sanctuary. Whether you're an avid bird watcher or just enjoy a bit of nature - this is the tour for you! Located only a short scenic drive from Belize City, the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary is a Mecca for nature enthusiasts, especially bird lovers. Crooked Tree provides habitat for over 360 species of birds.

You are invited to view the majestic Jabiru stork, a South American bird with a massive 10-foot (3-meter) wingspan, graceful snowy egrets as they search for food, or maybe even one of the two species of Belizean ducks that reside here.

Your guide will also take you through the rustic village of Crooked Tree, famous for its abundance of cashew nut fruit trees. Local legend has it that the cashew was the only fruit created by the devil!
