Description:
Set along the top of a narrow ridge overlooking the Deschutes River, this neatly manicured resort on the road to Mount Bachelor is a somewhat more relaxed version of the family ski-and-summer resorts so common in central Oregon. The resort is close enough to town to make going out for dinner convenient but deep enough in the pine forests to feel away from it all. Keep in mind that this is a condominium resort; most of the accommodations have separate bedrooms, and many have fireplaces and kitchens. For the best views, request a River Ridge condo, right on the edge of the bluff. These rooms are quite simply some of the nicest places to stay in the area, with private outdoor hot tubs on the view decks and whirlpool tubs in the bathrooms. A 2-mile nature trail surrounding the property leads down to the banks of the Deschutes River.
