User Review:
- Though it opened in 2001, the small and cheerful Amazir still feels fresh and new. The hotel's location on a bend in the palmeraie makes it ideal for exploring the crops, palms, and fruit trees and absorbing the way of life here. The reasonable-size rooms are simply furnished, have private bathrooms, and are finished with Berber carpets and natural fiber curtains and bed covers. Some rooms have a balcony with either river or palmeraie views. The one suite, which can accommodate up to four people, has a balcony literally atop the river with comfortable cane lounges to enjoy the view. It's the sound of rushing water and bird song and the absence of traffic noise that I love about this place. The large ground-floor restaurant is Moroccan in style with zellij and an ornate stucco ceiling; a well-located fireplace is welcoming during the colder months. During summer the pool is very popular, along with the sun lounges sitting on its terrace, which overlooks the river. Campers can pitch their tents on the palmeraie floor for 20dh ($2.50/£1.25).
