P Hotel Bergen

Description:

• This cost-conscious, unpretentious hotel occupies the premises of what functioned for many years as a turn-of-the-20th-century lodging known as the Ambassadeur. In 2006, it was taken over by the P Hotel chain, which performed a few minor upgrades but then left the venue basically unchanged. Everything here is adequate and comfortable, but far from plush. The bathrooms in each room have showers with floor drains rather than tubs. We prefer rooms on the uppermost (fourth) floor beneath the mansard-style roof because of the views over Bergen. Access to these rooms is for the young at heart and involves climbing an additional flight of stairs above and beyond the floor where the elevator ends.
