In a place so authentically Norwegian, you wouldn't expect a cuisine this thoroughly Continental. Subtly intermingled flavors emerge in the rack of lamb with creamed artichokes and a shallot confit demi-glace or theme-marinated salmon with a spinach risotto. Other standouts include the monkfish studded with lardoons and served with braised Savoy cabbage; medallions of venison in a port wine sauce; and the cinnamon-scented, pan-fried breast of chicken with pancetta. The location, in a house built in 1870, lies just a few steps from the Ole Bulls Plass.
