Description:

  • The peach-coloured building close to Gendarmenmarkt was once home of Rahel Varnhagen von Ense, a young revolutionary who invited artists, writers and scientists to conspirative meetings during the French Revolution. Important people still gather here, but more because of the food than for any secretive plots. Chef Kolja Kleeberg has won much critical acclaim with his contemporary international culinary creations. The decor, comprising of wooden floorboards, white walls and colourful modern paintings, is equally modern yet somewhat inconspicuous.
