Gendarmenmarkt

Gendarmenmarkt - Berlin

  • Description:

    • Gendarmenmarkt is a stunning quaint Berlin square that epitomizes the architectural finesse the city has to offer. Visitors have three spectacular buildings to explore: the Deutscher Dom (German Cathedral) built in 1701, the Französischer Dom (French Cathedral) also named the Neue Kirche or New Church built in 1701-08 and the Konzerthaus designed by famous German architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The orchards of trees, benches and live music make this the perfect spot for an afternoon of culture in the summer. In December, Berlin's most beautiful Christmas market fills the square with Gluwein and Lebkuchen (mulled wine and ginger bread).
