The principle shopping areas in Berlin are the Kufürstendamm, known as "Ku'damm" and Taunzienstraße/Europa Center. In the former East Berlin you will find the massive, albeit ugly, Alexis shopping center. There are many other shopping centres too, for example, Potsdamer Platz, Hermann Platz, Spandau, Schönhauser Allee and Alt Tegel. Berlin has many events each year. These include the Carnival of the Cultures, Christopher Street Day Parade, the twice yearly "Long night of the Museums" the Pyronale fireworks and many more. Berlin is famous each year for the Berlinale film festival. One of the most important each year in the world. There is so much to see and do in Berlin. Berlin is absolutely fascinating.
