Berlin post-modern style

Description:

The post-modern architecture of the Jewish Museum is most striking. The windows are like gashes or scars on the side of the severe structure. There is no door to enter the building. You must enter the building next door, go down to the basement and then walk over to the Jewish Museum underground and then go up. The floors are all at a slight angle, so you always feel slightly disoriented. There's a maze made of uneven walls, which makes you feel somewhat nauseous when you walk through it. It doesn't sound so pleasant maybe, but could there be a better way to get a sense of the holocaust? Talk about an interactive building. Berlin's Film museum is much more upbeat, and no less amazing. You walk through a huge hall of mirrors. In every direction, up, down and on every side, is a reflection of a reflection of a reflection of ... well, you. It's a cool feeling, almost like walking through a parallel universe. And of course, there are the nods to all old greats of German cinema.

Day 1 - Berlin

Kreuzberg is an interesting area. It's a fast gentrifying Turkish enclave. After the Jewish Museum, you'll probably be reeling, so stabilize yourself with some Turkish meat. The shwarmas are delicious, they're served in a toasted pita with fresh cabbage.
