Description:
- The Royal Naval Dockyard on the North Ireland Island was a major outpost on the coast of the Atlantic ocean for the British Royal Navy during the American War of Independence and Cold War. Today, most of the buildings that served the British and NATO troops have been converted into museums and places of tourist interest. The Bermuda Maritime Museum, which was housed inside a fortress in 1974, will take you through the history of the dockyard. Besides, the port at the dockyard is an alighting point for tourists arriving in the country though various cruise ships. The visitor center near the ferry stop will help you with all the information you would need for your travel in this part of Bermuda. Call the tourist information center to know more.
