Description:

  • This intricately half-timbered building in the town center dates from 1652. Today it's the most visually arresting hotel in Bernkastel. Transformed into a tavern in 1830, it still has many of its original woodcarvings. Its public areas are traditional, and the cozy (but often too-small) rooms are furnished in a simple, modern style with bathrooms containing tub/shower combinations. Look for the 150-year-old plant called Blau Regen (Blue Rain) in the garden.
