  • The culinary experience in Birmingham ranges from Greek and Seafood to classic Southern BBQ. Whatever your taste may be the Five Points South entertainment district has something for everyone. Try the Fish Market Restaurant for the best seafood at modest prices. Located very close to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), the large-portion seafood dishes have a little Greek flair and are of the freshest quality. On the other hand, the Hot & Hot Fish Club not only serves delicious seafood but you’ll also find local, organic, seasonal dishes in a fine modern dining room. By enjoying a meal at the Hot & Hot Fish club you are supporting local farmers and artisans who take pride in serving you the freshest heirloom products. For a hot Lebanese lunch pop in to The Pita Stop. Located right next to the UAB, this restaurant combines Lebanese and American cooking in a homey atmosphere. The Southside also hosts some excellent BBQ joints. Check out Dreamland Barbeque for your classic BBQ pork ribs with Southern style. While the restaurant in Birmingham is one of eight locations you won’t feel like you’re eating in a cookie-cutter restaurant chain, because the staff treats you like one of their own.

Forest Park, a suburb of Birmingham, also has some great dining establishments. Check out Bogue’s for breakfast and Little Savannah for dinner. At Bogue’s you will dine on perennial Southern breakfast favorites like homemade biscuits ‘n gravy, grits, pancakes, and pork. While at Little Savannah you’ll be able to devour some delicious Southern bistro dishes with a bit of elegant flair. Try the Skirt Steak with French fries, or Grilled Pork with Peach Chutney and you’ll be asking yourself, “when can I come back?” If Southern fare is not your thing, you should make time for Sol Y Luna also in the Forest Park area. This upscale Mexican restaurant serves traditional tapas and over sixty premium tequilas in a casual, yet contemporary atmosphere.
