Description:
- Located nine miles from the town of Big Pine, California. This group campground provides restrooms, picnic tables, fire rings, and BBQ's. Firewood is for sale at the site. Situated in a narrow mountain canyon, in a stream bottom with Jeffrey pine and sagebrush. Elevation is 7,600 feet. Roads are paved. Popular activities include bird watching, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. There is wilderness hiking to glacier and lakes in John Muir Wilderness.
Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays. Please check in with the campground manager upon arrival. All equipment must fit on the site pad. Vehicles park in developed areas only. There are two 35' and six 20' parking spaces at Clyde Glacier Group. Palisade Group is tent only and has no RV parking. Palisade Group has five 20' parking spaces.
