I’ve decided to do a series of posts on going out in Amsterdam, so if you’re here on any night of the week, you can find a decent party to go to! After all, nothing is more depressing than having one night in a city, and feeling like you’re wandering around aimlessly, missing out on all the fun everyone who’s in-the-know seems to be having.
As the unofficial student night in Amsterdam, Wednesday is the day that kicks off the parties. And the unofficial student destination is the Paradiso, for their club night Noodlanding (meaning emergency landing). Doors open at 11.30 and cover is 6 euros, but the party doesn’t really take off until about 1am.
Even if you’re not a huge club person, the Paradiso is worth checking out simply for the fact that it’s a club housed in an old 19th Century church. It is also a concert venue that hosts many performers as they travel through Europe, so keep an eye on their schedule to see if someone you like will be in town.
Conveniently located next to Leidseplein with it’s many bars and cafes, you also have plenty of choice when it comes to pre-drinking.
