Whether you’re gay, straight or on the fence, the annual Pink Film Festival will, if previous events are to go by, draw huge crowds to Amsterdam from 10-20 March this year.
The 2011 edition of the Pink Film Days will take place again at cinema “Het Ketelhuis”, on the Westergas cultural area around 10 minutes walk from the centre. The entire cinema, with three screening rooms, a nice bar and (new for this year) a kitchen for food & snacks will be dedicated to pink cinema.
Around 112 different movies, from 32 countries, will be screened during the 10 day festival. The festival offers many screenings that have never been shown before in the Netherlands. They try to offer all genres, from crowd pleasers to smaller independant movies. After all, the gay and lesbian community is very diverse, and this is refelected by the festival.
The vast majority of screenings will have subtitles in English, or be spoken in English.
The atmsophere at this event is extremely friendly and everyone is made to feel welcome, whatever your background. Take a look at the website www.rozefilmdagen.nl (also in English) for full details of the movies they’ll be screening.
