For some truly delicious food in Anchorage, look no further than Simon and Seafort’s. This is one of the top restaurants in the area. Offering an absolutely stunning view of Cook Inlet, this is a great place to take a special someone or the whole family. Regardless, the ambiance is simply lovely. Who wouldn’t want to eat dinner with a beautiful panoramic view of Cook Inlet below? The menu has something for everyone, and offers a wide array of both meat and seafood. The saloon décor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. For an appetizer, the steamed Manila clams served in a white-wine and garlic broth and served with fries (as all clams should be) are fantastic. The bar also has an array of fresh oysters. For a main course, both the meat and seafood choices are solid choices. If you’re a meat lover, look no further than the char-grilled sirloin chateau which is apple wood smoked and served with a mustard garlic aioli and fries. Another lovely option is the apple wood smoked n’grilled pork chop. Served with sweet and sour cabbage and a creamy mushroom sauce and served over oven roasted tomatoes and red jacket mashed potatoes, this hearty meal is sure to warm your soul on the cold Anchorage nights. If you’d rather have your fill of seafood instead, try the Bering Sea red king crab legs or the grilled North-Atlantic Maine lobster tail. Both are absolutely delicious. If you’re traveling on a budget, the restaurant has fantastic happy hour prices for both drinks and appetizers. Both appetizers and drinks average around $4 each during happy hour! The Kobe meatloaf sliders are definitely the way to go. Top if off with a cranberry mojito or a pomegranate margarita. If you’re visiting during peak season, be sure and make reservations a few days ahead of time. This is easily one of the more popular restaurants in Anchorage, and despite the wait, it’s well worth the effort.
