Ever wondered what true Southern cooking tastes like?  In Asheville, you’re really in for a treat in Southern cooking.  Check out the Corner Kitchen, one of the best places to eat some truly delicious food in Asheville.  Recognized by both locals and tourists alike, this is definitely not to be missed.  Dubbed “Caroamerican” fare, you’ll find everything that’s deemed classic Southern food.  The beautiful restaurant is a old cottage from the 1890’s that was renovated and turned into a historic treat.  The relaxing yet beautiful atmosphere is a great place to take the whole family or that special someone.  Serving breakfast, brunch, and dinner, you may even want to schedule more than one visit!  Start out with a glass of wine (how could you not?) that will compliment your meal.  For an appetizer, don’t skip the Fried Green Tomatoes (it’s not just a movie!).  If you’re looking for something a bit more refined, the Almond Crusted Brie on crostinis and served with a tarragon orange marmalade and red wine reductions are delicious.  For a main course, the Pecan Crusted Mountain Trout served over sweet potatoes and green beans and topped with a bourbon sauce is simply divine.  If you want something a bit heartier, the Habanero & Fig Barbeque Glazed Pork Chop is served over roasted root vegetables and apple julienne.  It’s hard to stop your mouth from watering!  The restaurant also has fantastic desserts, so be sure and save some extra room.
