Burger lovers will gather in Virginia-Highland on Oct. 2 to see which restaurant earns the distinction of best burger in Atlanta. John Howell Park will play host to 18 restaurants vying for the top honors as they sweat over the Kamado grills donated by Grill Dome specifically for this inaugural event. The two honorary categories include “The People’s Choice, Best Burger” and “The Judge’s Choice, Best Burger.” Even vegetarians can enjoy, as restaurants are  given the opportunity to enter meat and meatless entries.

Event attendees will have a vote with an interactive taste card allowing vote by text message, so don’t forget to bring your mobile phone. Celebrity/ food critic judges will also be making the rounds using their seasoned palette to make a selection.

What’s better than a mouthful of juicy beef? A mouthful of juicy beef that benefits a charity! Battle of the Burgers is also a benefit, with 100 percent of the burger proceeds going to nonprofit organization Embraced, which collects and shares gently-used medical equipment with individuals in need locally and globally.
