Atlanta foodies are preparing their stomachs for the annual Taste of Atlanta, taking place Oct. 23 and 24 at Technology Square in Midtown. The 9th annual food and wine event features more than 70 restaurants serving everything from chicken and waffles to chicken curry. Three cooking stages will showcase recipes from some of Atlanta’s best chefs, including Top Chef finalist Kevin Gillespie. Other festival highlights include a Farm to Festival Market focused on the local sustainable movement with live cooking demonstrations and a farmers market with locally grown products. The Family Food Zone will include some favorite family eateries and keep the little ones entertained with free food-focused crafts, like macaroni jewelry making. For those over the age of 21, the VIP experience may be the way to go. Included in the exclusive VIP section is a beer tasting tent with more than 40 craft beers from across the country and a wine tasting area featuring vintages from around the world. As if all these perks weren’t enough to get you going, all this delicious food and fun will be complemented by music and entertainment from local and regional artists.
