Pre-Turkey Run

Atlantans will gather bright and early on Turkey Day to run off some calories before the big feast. Atlanta Track Club’s 2010 Atlanta Half Marathon and Thanksgiving Day 5K is back for the 31st year. The event kicks off at Turner Field at 7:30 a.m. with the half marathon and the 5K follows at 7:45 a.m. This fun event also includes a Mashed Potato Mile run at 9:45 a.m. and Drumstick Dash at 9:50 a.m. for the kids. At the finish, the hungry marathon and 5K participants will receive a long-sleeve Adidas performance shirt and commemorative finisher’s medal.

If your not signed up for the race, come and support these runners–some dressed like pilgrims and turkeys–as they do what you know you should be doing before feasting for the rest of the day.
