Finding the Right Beach in Auckland

Things to Do, Travel Tips, What's New — By Marie Szamborski on March 17, 2011 at 8:39 pm

Beaches are beaches, right? While it’s true you could have a great time at just about any of Auckland’s beaches as long as it’s not raining, you may be looking for something specific. As a general guideline, beaches closer to the city are generally calmer, and those out west are generally a wee bit wilder. But there is something for everyone at each location. Just be sure and heed the warnings of the lifeguards, watch out for rips and always swim between the flags. Here’s a handy list.
