Creepy Caves in Bali
Things to Do, What's New — By Zanni Davis on May 3, 2010 at 9:38 pmThe sunburn has set in and you need to get off the beach and out of the sun. Bali has some hidden and slightly infamous spots that are yearning to be explored. For example during World War II, Bali was occupied by the Japanese and the Balinese were forced into slave labor to build wartime facilities. Goa Jepang was one of three caves carved out by the Balinese during the occupation.
The caves purpose is unclear but one thing historians do know is that upon completion of the caves the Balinese slaves were shot. Such brutality was definitely used to hide some sort of secret.
So if you need a creepy diversion, the lush tropical surroundings will definitely keep you cool. But the chills may not come just from the shade.
