New Kid on Baltimore’s Restaurant Block: Mari Luna Bistro

Mari Luna Bistro is one of the new kids on Baltimore’s restaurant block. Officially opening in February of this year across from the Meyerhoff, the restaurant is borrowing items from the menu of its sister restaurant, Mari Luna Mexican Grill, that are working well along with signature dishes of its own. Continuing the tradition of seafood dishes with a Mexican flare, Mari Luna is adding its version of spice to mid-town Baltimore.

Mari Luna Bistro

The Mari Luna Bistro is the newest restaurant from the Mari Luna family. The restaurant offers authentic Mexican food with seven styles of guacamole, a vast taco option made with fresh corn tortillas, and house made sangria. Don’t be surprised to get guacamole made to order – you may have to wait a moment for it but once your size-able freshly-made bowl of guacamole arrives, the wait will seem well worth it. For those with wheat sensitivities, they also offer gluten free items.

Although the Mari Luna’s proximity to the Meyerhoff might denote that they cater  solely to a symphony crowd, on the weekends, the Bistro’s basement is filled with music meant only for salsa dancing.

The Mari Luna Bistro is the third addition to the chain of Luna family restaurants in Baltimore. An average meal, including a drink, will run you about $30, which is a good price for the area and a friendly option for your wallet.
