Now that things have returned to normal in Bangkok (though the political battles continue in legal chambers now) the city and country find that tourism has taken a serious hit (surprise, surprise!). Those in the know are taking advantage of some of the desperate times, desperate offers many hotels, restaurants and travel agencies are putting out.
Well, MasterCard and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) even called a press conference to announce their deal.
They have some ideas and offers for you and if you are still shy about Bangkok, they have specials to get outside the city as well. Fly from Bangkok to 8 different places: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udonthani, Krabi, Phuket, Phitsanulok, Ubonratchathani and Suratthani or just fly into Bangkok and drive to 4 others: Pattaya, Hua Hin, Cha-am and Khao Yai. Or not. Just stay here. You have options.
The deal is this: a per person price (minimum two people) of 5,999 baht includes roundtrip airfare with Nok Air from Bangkok to the destination city, two nights accommodations, and a rental car. You have to book by September 15th, 2010 and complete the travel by September 30th, 2010. MasterCard Worldwide also provides free travel insurance if you buy the package with your MasterCard.
