Bangkok Photo Friday: Sunset on Chao Phraya River

Romantic, Things to Do — By Kevin Revolinski on June 25, 2010 at 6:02 am

Sunsets over water are always nice and while Bangkok might not be on a beach (though not far from a few either) it does have its share of shimmering waters. A couple of favorite places to catch sunsets are the high-in-the-sky bar Sirocco (bring a credit card!) or the more down to earth… er, down to water location The Deck. Both offer views of sun and river. But today’s photo moves up the Chao Phraya River to the popular Bangkok day trip destination Ayutthaya. Check out this UNESCO World Heritage Site for the day and stay around to watch the sun sink behind temple chedis and ruins. And a river runs through it.
