Bangkok Gets Krispy Kreme

What's New — By Kevin Revolinski on September 28, 2010 at 3:53 am

Move over Mr. Donut and Dunkin’ Donuts, Bangkok has found a new treat. Krispy Kreme opened to today on the G Floor of Siam Paragon and the lines were long. Famous for making their product right out where everyone can watch and then serving them still warm, Krispy Kreme is going to please the Thai sweet tooth. This is the 18th country to take in the U.S franchise and this is the first of 20 Krispy Creme outlets planned in Thailand.

I’ve never been a big fan, actually, and especially when they are still warm and freshly frosted, the whole thing seems to turn to sickeningly sweet syrup right in your mouth. My two cents for travelers is leave Krispy Kreme to the Thai; eat local sweets! (Check out the Thai version of a donut-like fry bread)
