It’s the New Year and the Thai will want to start it out right by making some prayers and offerings at the local temples. Today’s photo is of Devasathan, more commonly known as the Brahmin Shrine. Actually three shrines in one dedicated to Shiva, Ganesh and Vishnu just a stone’s throw from the Giant Swing and the important Wat Suthat.

The Thai like to hedge their bets. You will see them offering prayers not just for the internationally celebrated New Year, but also the Chinese New Year roughly a month later, and of course, the Thai New Year (Songkran).
