Barcelona Weekend Getaways

Things to Do, Travel Tips, What's New — By sammednick on August 27, 2010 at 10:05 am

So it’s the last weekend of summer (or theoretically) and the time has come to capitalize on ‘horarios’ de verano, before it’s back to 45 hour work weeks and a pasty white complexion. If you finish the day at 2pm and want a semi long weekend, or just feel like taking a two day getaway up the Costa Brava, now is definitely the time to do it.

Barcelona's Coastal Havens

Accessible by bus, train or car here’s a few ‘mini holiday’ ideas.  If you’re looking for a breath of fresh air from the city or even a slightly romantic escapade check out:

Calella Parafrugel is gorgeous, romantic and quaint. About 2 hours up the coast, accessible via car or bus, this town is the place to be for ‘Pijo Catalans, ‘ but welcomes expats and tourists alike.

Begur is about 20 minute from Calella, filled with rocky beaches, beautiful houses and delicious restaurants.

Cadaques is a small oasis outside of Barcelona. The home of Dali, it boasts the most spectacular views both within the city and outside the city. If you drive 15 minutes to Cap De Creus, you can have lunch atop the mountain overlooking the water. It’s absolutely breathtaking and without a doubt lives up to all of the hype.

  • Certainly one of many ideas and instruments to combat remark spam is shut comments on older posts. Generally it’s wise to close comments on older posts. WordPress has this as a built-in function the place you’ll be able to specify various days and WordPress will automatically shut the feedback on articles older than this many days. All it’s important to do is go to Settings ~ Dialogue and examine this box
