One of Barcelona’s best music festivals is right around the corner. Between May 26th and 28th, San Miguel Primavera Sound will feature a stellar line up of bands from around the world, including¬† artists such as Pulp, Fleet Foxes, James Blake, John Cale, PIL, Belle & Sebastian, The Flaming Lips, PJ Harvey and DJ Coco amongst many others. This vibrant three-day outdoor festival is an excellent way to kick off the summer in Barcelona.

The festival will take place at several venues throughout the city, including Barcelona’s Parc del Forum and Poble Espanyol. Day tickets cost 80 euros, however if you want to check out some of the late night bands, after 12am you can buy a ticket for 20 euros and have access to some of, but not all areas of the festival.

If you feel like starting the party sooner, you don’t have to wait until the 26th. On Monday the 23rd, Sala Apolo 2 will feature Betunizer, Capsula and Bullitt in its downstairs space and upstairs they’ll have Darren Haymen & the Secondary Modern, The Bitter Springs and Nacho Umbert & La Compania. On Tuesday¬† check out Dead Western, Capillary Action, Schnaak and other special guests also at Sala Apolo 2.

A welcome developments at this year’s Primavera Sound, is the more efficient payment system at the bars where you can simply swipe a card in order to buy drinks.
