Barcelona’s Best BBQ
Food, Things to Do, Travel Tips, What's New — By sammednick on June 13, 2011 at 7:59 pmSummer in Barcelona means none other than meat filled barbeques and jugs of mojitos. Whether you’re on the beach or in the mountains, there’s no shortage of private patios and restaurant terraces with delicious cuts of meat. If you don’t mind trekking half an hour outside of the city (either car or train), Can Marti is one of the most serene places in which to experience a genuine Barcelona BBQ. Situated near Font del Mont, near Collserola park and surrounded by nature, Can Marti’s quaint outdoor ‘parilla’ is ideal for long Sunday lunches which usually run late into the evenings. If you’re not up for sitting outside, the restaurant has an intimate indoor seating option surrounded by glass windows allowing you to enjoy the beautiful views.
Not only is Can Marti known for its diverse menu which includes lamb chops, rabbit, chicken, beef, salads and vegetables (amongst other options) but they’re also known for their Calcots; a specific type of green onion and very popular traditional Catalan food.
This is an excellent venue for groups of friends or small celebrations, especially during the summer.
Be sure to make a reservation, especially on the weekends and ask for their set menu option as well as as their a la carte specials.
