Barcelona’s reputation as a sangria drinking, tapa eating, fiesta frenzied city that never sleeps, precedes itself; however it’s also a city renowned for its passion, design, innovation, vigor and of course its affinity for romance.

So if you’re looking for love in Barcelona, here are a few ways to spice things up:

1: Picnic in the Park – Start by browsing through Barcelona’s famous Boqueria market right off La Rambla and pick up a few essentials for an afternoon picnic in the park. Try the Cava (Spain’s version of champagne),  bocadillos (baquettes) with cheese, ham and vegetables and then head to the fruit stand for some fresh strawberries before going to Ciutadella Park. Situated between the Born and Barceloneta neighborhoods, this is a calm and peaceful way to spend a romantic afternoon, relaxing by the pond or under a tree with a few drinks and some authentic Spanish tapas.

2: Tibidabo – There are few places in the city where you can see gorgeous, panoramic views, like you can from atop Tibidabo mountain. With a few quaint restaurants, ideal during the evening this is a sure fire way to wine and dine your current or prospective love interest.

3: Gracia Dinner & a Movie – It might seem like a conventional evening out, but if you know where to go in Gracia then you can have a wonderfully intimate night. There are several trendy wine and cheese bars in this neighborhood, perfect for enjoying a candle lit dinner in an unpretentious atmosphere in one of the liveliest yet most relaxing corners of the city. After dinner catch a flick at Verdi Cinemas, an independent and charming theater.
