Barcelona’s eclectic and exceptionally vibrant music scene is what keeps the city going until 6am almost every night of the week and especially on weekends. Its live music in particular, is rapidly growing with new venues springing up across the city all the time.

If you’re looking for live music in Barcelona, a few places to check out include:

Big Bang - Small, rustic and very local, this dive bar is situated in the Raval and features live music almost nightly.

El Paraigua – This is a modernist shop-turned bar and is located downstairs from a Spanish restaurant in the Gotico, right behind Plaza Sant Jaume. If you’re in the mood for a cocktail lounge feel in a relaxed and slightly more upscale atmosphere, then this is a good choice.

Harlem Jazz Club – Featuring live music almost nightly including rock, jazz and funk, Harlem Jazz Club is a Barcelona staple and tons of fun. It gets quite packed since admission is only 5 Euros and includes a drink.

Jazz Si – Not only does this bar feature live music but it also has flamenco shows. You can’t reserve tickets as it’s a first come first serve basis, so be sure to go early if you want a seat.
