Perhaps the most picturesque street in the Candelaria, the Calle 10 is a pedestrianized stroll through Bogota’s most traditional and scenic area. Running uphill to the East in the direction of the cerros orientales that tower over central Bogota, your lung capacity may well be tested as you make your way up from the imposing Plaza de Bolivar passing the Teatro Colon and the elegant Hotel de la Opera. Here on Calle 10, you can find language schools, museums such as the Museo Militar, cafes and an excellent Mexican restaurant. At no point will you feel at risk here since the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also located on Calle 10 explaining the presence of heavily armed military police on each colonial corner.
