Dog-friendly Hotels in Boston

Travel Tips, What's New — By Andrea Mooney on June 18, 2011 at 4:42 pm

In shops, on sidewalks, and in subways, you’ll see quite a few people alongside their furry friends. A fairly dog-friendly city, Boston opens its doors to dogs in its dog parks and even restaurant patios, so bring your pooch with you the next time you visit, and stay in one of these ultra-chic and especially canine-friendly hotels.

Boston Harbor Hotel
Located along the water, the Boston Harbor Hotel takes advantage of its outdoor amenities by welcoming your four-legged friends to join in on the scenery. For travelers taking their dogs, the hotel offers in-house pet walking services, and arranges for pet shop needs, pet sitters, and veterinarians (for a fee). The Luxe Pups Package awards your dog with a sleeping mat and welcome gift, transportation to Poochie’s Spa & Boutique for a wash, cut and blow dry and pedicure, and a goodie bag to take back home.

Fairmont Copley Plaza
The Fairmont likes dogs so much, that they decided to get their own. Catie Copley is the Canine Ambassador of the establishment, and if for some reason you can’t travel with your own Fido, you can set up an appointment to get a little leash love with Catie. Take her for walks, runs, or just sit on the floor and play – the eight-year-old black lab is there for your dog-loving needs. Originally a guide dog, Catie had to switch careers from help to hospitality when she discovered vision problems of her own. Her mild manners welcome you as you enter, and she’ll extend a kind paw to your dog as well. Fairmont accepts pets in its facility if you let them know beforehand.

Liberty Hotel
Even though this place used to be a prison, it will feel a lot less like one compared to a kennel for your pup. Upon your arrival, your pet will get his or her own bed and bowl placed in the room, and designer pet welcome amenities. Take advantage of the complimentary professional pet portrait with an award winning photographer from Muddy Paw Studio to remember your pet’s trip to Boston forever.

Nine Zero
You won’t be in the doghouse with your pal if you bring him or her along to the Nine Zero. The hotel’s “In the Doghouse” package accepts any number of pets without size or weight restrictions, or extra charges. They offer a restful night in a deluxe guestroom, designer treats made especially for your pet, bowls and a bed in your room, and pet sitting, grooming, walking, and massage services are available for a supplemental fee.
