Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Nightlife, Things to Do — By jessicapolizzotti on November 6, 2011 at 7:35 pm

There is one thing I never tire of, spending time with my girlfriends. The older I get, the harder it seems to juggle all the balls that I throw in the air. Family comes first and most of my time is devoted to taking care of their needs (often at the expense of my own), but every now and then I know I need to refresh by spending a night out on the town with my girls. Nothing is better than a good night of gossip, food, drinks and fun to refuel the soul and salvage the part of me that I most often neglect. When a late night of dancing is not doable, enjoy your girls night out at any of these outside the box fun spots and wake up ready to return to being the do it all diva those around you rely on.

Gather your girlfriends to let your inner artist out at The Paint Bar in Newton. A bar like no other, The Paint Bar provides an artistic outlet alongside food and drinks to create the perfect picture of girls night out. A night at Paint Bar allows you to let loose and create the ideal “you” original all while sipping wine or drinking beer. The Paint Bar can be rented for private events (10-40 friends) and is the perfect perfect place for a large ladies night. The Paint Bar is popular so be sure to schedule in advance. Their on-line calendar is awesome, offering a snapshot of each featured painting along with availability. With a rotating selection of paintings a return trip will never be a problem.

Sometimes it is necessary to indulge in decadent dishes, and a fondue fix can fill that need at The Melting Pot. Most Melting Pot locations dedicate one night a week to women by offering a girls night out menu special. $35 buys your choice of cheese, salad and chocolate plus one of the Melting Pot’s signature cocktails, glass of wine or beer. Check their website to see which night is ladies night at your selected location (Tuesdays in Back Bay, Wednesdays in Framingham, and Burlington).

When the girls are anxious to see the latest chick flick, but can’t decide if/where to do dinner and drinks, go to a Cinema De Lux. Here you can do it all. Reserve your tickets in advance and make a reservation at the on-site restaurant for pre-show dining and drinking, or enjoy  the “take-out” type option that allows you to have your dinner delivered directly to you inside the theater. Finally, for those who only require basic movie snacks, free popcorn and soda are refillable at the snack counter. Seated in over-sized, leather  lounge chairs you’ll feel more like you are in someone’s living room than in a movie theater. With locations at Legacy Place, Framingham, and Patriot Place there is sure to be a spot for your girls night out.
Whatever you choose to do forget all that waits for you at home, instead switch things up a bit; simply sit back, relax and enjoy this time with your girlfriends, and be sure to schedule your next girls night out again soon!
