Getting around – Taxis

Any inner city taxi ride should cost you no more than 3000 ft.
Getting around – Public Transport
The public transportation system is the most convenient way of getting about town and can also the most cost effective:
If you are planning on taking over three rides, it’s worth buying a day or week pass depending on the amount of time spent in the city.
Card or Cash?
Avoid paying by card at smaller shops and eateries – you’ll just end up running to the nearest cash machine!
Many cash machines are not compatible with foreign banks so always look out for OTP – the largest Hungarian bank most likely to take your card.
If you are wanting to send a post card home, avoid doing it on Friday as practically everything closes around noon.
