Ever wondered why they call them Buffalo Wings?  They aren’t made out of buffalo!  Turns out, they were dubbed buffalo wings because that’s where their from!  For a truly authentic experience in Buffalo, head to Anchor Bar; the creators of Buffalo Wings!  It’s here that you’ll find out what Buffalo’s all about.  Buffalo wings were created here in 1964 as the perfect accompaniment to an evening of beer and cocktails.  In case you need a little convincing, the walls are covered with awards for their amazing creation.  This casual bar is a great place to mix with the locals and even make some new friends while discovering what this town is all about.  The inside of the bar is unpretentious and calm.  Although the bar attracts a pretty solid crowd, it remains one of the friendliest spots in town.  Located conveniently to the Buffalo Theater District, this is the perfect spot for some late night grub.  If you happen to be in town on a weekend night, live jazz adds a special flare to this down-to-earth pub.  The infamous sauce is still a little bit of a secret and is closely guarded by the owners Teressa and Frank.  Don’t dismay, you can always buy the sauce from the store attached to the restaurant.  They have many different kinds, so be sure and buy a variety of them to try at home!  If you love what you order, however, there are particular recipes that are available for you to take and recreate at home.  You can even recreate the chicken wing dip, which is amazing.
