The tower offers panoramic views of the city, and is a landmark in Busan. Like Seoul tower, you’ll see photos of Busan tower on postcards and personal pics of people on social network sites. We found Busan Tower by taking the subway, line 1, to Nampodong. The signs in the subway station said that exit 1 leads to Yongdusan Park, where the tower is located, but actually exit 7 is closer. Exit 7 is also near the Lotte Town department store, so you can do a little shopping and eating before or after you visit the tower. Eating before may be a good idea, if it’s hot outside and you don’t feel particularly energetic. A little climbing is involved to get to the park where the tower is located. Don’t worry. You don’t have to hike up a mountain or anything. You may have to go up a few stairs or walk up a paved ramp, depending on which way you decide to go.
After going out of the exit, turn towards the shops. You should be heading opposite the Lotte. Keep walking for about 10 minutes, looking to the right. You’ll see escalators that appear to go nowhere, but there is a sign that says Yongdusan Park. Now, you aren’t going to see anything that even resembles a park, just stores. Ignore your doubts and take the escalator. There are stairs, too. When you get to the top of the of the escalators, you’ll see some greenery. Just keep heading up, either by taking the stairs or a paved walkway. Walk towards the tower, which looks like something out of a Jetsons cartoon. If you are an adult, you’ll have to pay 4,000 won to enter.
An attendant may then lead you towards an elevator where you may have to wait in line with others who want to go up. The elevator will take you to the top of the tower where you can gaze out at Busan. There are also signs in English that describe the sights in Busan so you can understand what you are seeing and get the most out of your trip.
