If your dog is part of the family, you can’t find adequate boarding, or you just feel the furry fellow deserves a Mexican vacation as much as anyone, there are a number of pet friendly resorts in Los Cabos that can make traveling with a canine companion a less onerous occupation.
The premier destination is Las Ventanas Al Paraiso, which doesn’t just accept pets, but has programs specifically designed to pamper them. Las Ventanas is a luxurious Rosewood managed property located in the tourist corridor near San Jose del Cabo, and in addition to featuring spectacular Sea of Cortez views, a Department of Romance for adults, and Rose Bud programs for children, also offers a full menu of delights for four-legged clientele.
The resort has developed special menus, massages, and treatments to keep pets in as luxurious circumstances as their owners. Dogs will enjoy the Canine Delights menu, which include selections like The Rin Tin Tin (shredded braised beef and steamed rice), and Doggie Delights (doggy chews, rawhides and jerky). Pups who require special dietary considerations, or who just know what they like, can anticipate the chef preparing their kibble to order. Additionally, all canine cuisine is served in sleek modern metallic bowls with faux gemstones on a bone shaped placemat. Rest assured, Rover will want to tip the waitstaff, and give his regards to the chef.
If cats and dogs are traveling together (a sure sign of the apocalypse), there is also a Feline Delights menu available, with fat cat favorites like the Claw Cleaner (albacore tuna, chopped egg and sour cream), Kitty Captain’s Plate (scrambled eggs and poached salmon) and Tomcat’s Favorite (a selection of seafood).
If four-legged fine dining weren’t enough, there are also pet-friendly treatments offered by the world-class Spa at Las Ventanas. These include stress-reducing neck massages, body massages, and beauty salon-style pet grooming to relieve Rover of all the stress he developed chasing tennis balls around the backyard, or sleeping sixteen hours a day. There are also dog walking services that will take the pooch for a stroll along the beach, or through the desert countryside. Pet cabanas are available at the beach if your dog burns easily in the sun.
Pet menus are available for breakfast, lunch. The resort charges $50 USD per stay per pet, and there is a 40 lb. maximum weight limit on pets and they must be leashed at all times while on property.
